Trip to The Reach Climbing Centre

Just before half term, the children in Year 5 enjoyed an exciting, yet extremely challenging, trip to The Reach Climbing Centre in Woolwich. The children learned how to work together as a team to ensure whoever was climbing felt safe and secure that if they slipped they would be held tight.

Throughout the session all the children had to show many of our key School Values including: trust, responsibility, perseverance and respect. Our children also demonstrate our Learning Dispositions of problem solving, curiosity, resilience, cooperation and emotional intelligence.

Many of the children excelled at the climbing and have shown a keen interest in taking part in climbing out of school. “I really want to come again!” Benjamin 5HT. “I’m going to ask my mum if she can bring climbing again soon.” Stoain 5ND.
