Year 6 - Lawyers and Lungs!

We have all become lawyers and legal experts! A character from our core text "Wonder", Jack Wills, has been on trial. We became representatives for the prosecution and defence. We wrote opening speeches to present in court. We were then cross-examined by the opposing team. The jury, who had been observing and listening, had the final vote. It was fun using formal language in the role of judge, defence and prosecutor. Unfortunately, the defence was not convincing enough and the prosecution’s evidence was overwhelming against Jack, who was then charged with assault.

In year 6 we have also been enjoying investigating in Science. After learning about the function of the lungs, we thought about factors that could effect lung capacity. We decided to investigate the question ‘Does height effect lung capacity?’
